Sri Lanka government conduct diploma program on Higher National Diploma in Business Finance (HNDBF) course is a highly recognized Business Administration course conducted by Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education (SLATE), and Ministry of Higher Education governs SLATE, Sri Lanka.
SLATE is the only government institute in Sri Lanka functions under the Ministry of higher education and offers a Higher National Diploma in multi-disciplinary areas in English Medium for G.C.E Advanced Level Qualified Students.
Higher National Diploma in Business Finance (HNDBF) program was introduced to Sri Lanka in 1984 by the United Kingdom Board of Technology and Education Council.
Later the syllabus of the Higher National Diploma in Business Finance(HNDBF) changed in the year of 2004 and 2010 year.

Entry Qualification for HNDBF
Those who were wishing to join this Higher National Diploma in Business Finance, Applicants should have one of the followings education qualifications :
GCE (A/L) Examination (old syllabus) in 04 subjects including Economics, Commerce & Finance, Accountancy in one sitting;
OR
GCE (A/L) Examination (new syllabus) in 03 subjects including Economics, Business Studies, and Accounting or any two of the above with one of the following subjects; Geography, Home Economics, Political Science, Logic & Scientific Methods, Agricultural Science or Combined Mathematics in one sitting.
OR
Completed of National Certificate for Accounting Technicians conducted by the Department of Technical Education & Training.
AND
An ordinary passes in English and Mathematics at the GCE (O/L) Examination
