BSc Management External Degree program was introduced by the Department of Public Administration of Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce at the University of Sri Jayawardenapura. This Jayawardenapura external degree program is one of the highly recognized in Sri Lanka. The program is designed for those who passed G.C.E Advanced Level examination but unable to select into State University Sri Lanka.
From 1997 to 2000, the Department of Public Administration in the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura offered the B.Sc. Management (Public) General (External) degree program. For the degree program, the Department of Public Administration is in charge of all academic issues. The External Examination Branch of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura is in charge of all administrative matters.
This is a good chance for those who are currently get employed in Private and Public sectors who need further continuous education for better promotion and employable opportunities.
Entrance Qualification for Entering Jayawardenapura External Degree
The Applicant needs to fulfill following qualifications to enter into the mentioned external degree programs conducted by the University of Sri Jayawardanapura.Pass three subjects on any field in G.C.E Advanced Level exam of Sri Lanka

Application Should follow any professional or academic qualifications which approved by the University of Sri Jayawardanapura.

Holders of any one of the following academic or professional qualifications
- An officer employed in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS) and who has passed the limited admission test to join the SLAS.
- An officer employed in the Government Accountants’ Service (GAS) and who has passed the limited admission test to join the GAS.
- Holders of the Trained Teacher Certificate issued by the Education Department.
- Successful completion of 2-year course in Public Administration at the Sri Lanka Technical College.
- Obtained a certificate of 2-year course on Business Studies at the Sri Lanka Technical College.
- Successful completion of 1st and 2nd-year examinations of Diploma in Business Studies at the Sri Lanka Technical College.
- Associate membership of the Institute of London Chartered Secretaries.
- Obtained Diploma in Accountancy certificate from the Sri Lanka Technical College.
- Obtained National Higher Diploma certificate from Sri Lanka Open University.
- Membership in AAT, Sri Lanka or United Kingdom.
- A ranked officer of the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Air Force.
- An officer of the Sri Lanka Police Department -Sub Inspector and above.
- Completion of Diploma in Public Management of the Department of Public Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Duration of Study BSc Management External Degree program
The normal Study period for this Jayawardenapura External Degree programmes are three years.
