The College of Chemical Sciences (CCS) is a reputed education training center which connected to the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon. There are so many educational programs conduct at this institute. This institute got a great history and the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon provided educational programs in the field of chemistry over 40 years continuously.

Diploma in Laboratory Technology (DLT)

The Diploma in Laboratory Technology is a two years reputed program which got great recognition on private and public sector in Sri Lanka.

Those who successfully complete the Diploma in Laboratory Technology program can become Technician in the field of chemical and the person also entitled to use the designation Tech.I.Chem.C. after their names.

Those who passed this diploma also eligible to enroll in to Graduateship Programme in Chemistry which also conducted by College of Chemical Sciences.

Entry qualifications

Those who plan to follow the above program should compleate one of following quolifications to get enrolled.

Diploma in Food and Material Technology (FMT) and Diploma in Clinical Laboratory Technology (CLT) Stream

  1. GCE Advanced Level
  2. GCE Advanced Level pass in Chemistry
  3. GCE Ordinary Level with Science, Mathematics and English
  4. 10 years experience as a Laboratory Technician

Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Stream

  1. Should have passed six subjects with four Credit Passes including Sinhala Language/ Tamil Language, Mathematics, Science at the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in one sitting and should have passed English Language in not more than two sittings.
  2. Should have passed any 02 subjects from Physics, Biology, Agriculture, Combined Maths in one sitting with a Credit Pass for Chemistry in one sitting at the G. C. E. (A/L) Examination.
  3. Should be not less than 18 years and not more than 35 years

Only those who qualify in MLT stream will be eligible to apply for MLT registration.

Medium of Study:

All programs on Diploma in Food and Material Technology (FMT) , Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT)and Diploma in Clinical Laboratory conduct in English Language.
