The Bachelor of Nursing Degree programme is four Year adacamic degree program under medical education in Sri Lanka. The main objective of this program is to provide advanced skills of nursing care, Leadership and Management. Nursing is a nobal professional and there are two type of nurses in Sri Lanka who work under goverment sector and private sector. Bachelor of Nursing degree conducted by open university of Sri Lanaka would be an idea oppertunity to get excell on Nursing Profession. Nursing professionals got higher demand on overseas jobs and by gain these qualifications will defenitly help to improve career as a Nurse. Deprtment of Health Science of Open university of Sri Lanka Offer this B.Sc Nursing Degree since 1994 and now it open for the students in science strem who did not gain the oppertunity to complet their higher stidues in a conventinal Sri Lankan Goverment University.

Entrance Educational Qualification to Enter Bachelor of Nursing
Student who fullfill the bellow mentioned educational requiremetnt can apply for mentioned programme.
Three (03) Pass grades at G.C.E. Advanced Level from among the subjects of Agriculture, Applied Mathematics, Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Combined Mathematics, Information & Communication Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Pure Mathematics and Zoology,
or
Three (03) Pass grades from among the OUSL Foundation courses, compatible to the subjects mentioned under section
or,
Diploma in Nursing offered by the OUSL,
or,
General Certificate in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing of the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka,
or,
Three (03) year Diploma in Nursing from any other institution recognized by a local/international Regulatory Body acceptable to OUSL, with 02 years working experience
Nurses Who have compleated their three year diploma in nursing can also follow this program with exemptions.
Study Method
The Program is study through Practice Open & Distance Learning Methodology and student can study while working or staying at home. There are Continuous assessments, Mini Projects, Lab Reports and Web based assessments to conduct the Evaluation and assessment of the degree program.
The Levels of Bachelor of Nursing Program
This undergraduate program assigned with several levels and its depending on the relative complexity and course content. The Bachelor Program include Four Levels such as follow.
